South Caicos Bonefishing
Experience the fishing capital of Turks and Caicos
Fishing in the Turks and Caicos Islands is considered to be some of the best in the world. And here in South Caicos, or “The Big South,” we’re the fishing capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Fly fishing, kayak fishing, or deep sea fishing
With the third largest barrier reef in the world, reef fishing here is an unbelievable experience. Also, quick and easy to get to from the resort, is the extensive Caicos Banks for excellent flats fishing (bonefishing). And finally, the ocean-wall is just a mile off the coast of our island, where you’ll find and enjoy plentiful big-game fishing (sport and deep-sea fishing).
Experience bonefishing and reef fishing
The deep blue waters surrounding the east side of South Caicos is minutes away from East Bay Resort. Following the reef and traveling North will take you to a supply of Wahoo, innumerable varieties of snapper and grouper, Mahi Mahi (caught on both fly and bait), and several species of Tuna to name just a few. Blue water fishing trips can range from regular ‘fun fishing trips’ to the reef less than a mile away using deep drop electric reels, to full day Blue water-fishing in the deep blues of the ocean, where among many other species, marlin and sailfish are regularly seen.
With the best natural harbor and several fishing plants, most of the nation’s seafood harvest of lobster, conch and fish for export and local consumption is processed in South Caicos. Eating what you catch is a principle here, so the fish you catch can be freshly prepared and grilled at one of the resorts dining venues. Just arrange this with our team and it can be served at the restaurant almost immediately.
