East Bay Resort is located in the Turks and Caicos on the quintessentially Caribbean island of South Caicos. We are a beachfront resort, and the vast majority of our 86 beachfront suites feature views of the Caribbean Sea and the sugar-white sands of East Bay Beach.

The peaceful setting makes East Bay Resort an ideal place to unwind, rejuvenate, and enjoy effortless relaxation. Adventurous guests have no shortage of options though, and our location within the Admiral Cockburn Land and Sea National Park provides easy access to diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing.

East Bay Resort is located minutes from world-class dive and snorkel sites, and our guests enjoy exclusive access to our PADI dive center, the only dive operation on South Caicos. The renowned South Caicos Wall, known for its dramatic drop from 35 to 7000 feet, is a short boat ride away. The Aquarium, where guests can snorkel in the clear blue waters and experience diverse wildlife firsthand, is minutes from the resort.

The island beauty is natural, raw and simple with no crowds, a slow pace but a lot to explore (walk, grab a bike or kayak around anytime). The resort is ample and quiet (about to undergo big renovation), the rooms are clean, well equipped and have way more space than we actually needed (or used), the views were stunning from every angle and the beds are extremely comfortable. We enjoyed having drinks and relaxing in the balcony after a day of diving before heading to the delicious buffet dinner. The chef there makes wonders to bring variety and flavorful dishes to a buffet that is simple but with a hint of "home made" quality to it that I particularly appreciate in a resort kind of restaurant in a remote island! The staff is extremely friendly, from the bar, to the drivers always wanting for you to have the best experience. Special appreciation for the Reef Divers crew: we had the most amazing time getting PADI certified; Jodi and Matt took care of us with a mix of professionalism, humor, friendliness that made us fall in love with diving and got us hooked for a lifetime of adventure. Ethan took us to our first dive after the certification and went above and beyond for us to see what the reefs there have to offer (we saw sharks, rays, eels, octopus on top of hundreds of different fish, coral and sponges) while James took care of things behind the scenes so everyone had what was needed). The only down side was the hot and long wait we experienced at the ferry boat to get to South Caicos. We found the flight back to Provo way more enjoyable. read less

Really felt like it was only us on the island and resort at times. Staff treats you like family and are all such beautiful human beings. Nobody haggles for tips but you'll want to tip them all for their wonderful service. The island and water has undeniable beauty like the majority of the Caribbean but still unmatched attributes. Clear and untampered with beaches, beautiful conch shells and fishies, salt ponds, flamingos, starry night skies, etc. We especially loved riding bikes thru the town. Safe travel, friendly locals, and feeding horses and donkeys (at a safe distance). When we dined off site at Dolphin Grill the owner, Cleo, and his cousin, Juice, loved chatting it up with us as if we've known each other for years. EastBay group is building a larger resort and the island has plans for a larger terminal, but are still trying to keep the private island experience. Hope that stays true because everyone deserves a chance to get a slice of the unfiltered loveliness, seclusion, tranquility, and wow factor that this island offers. "The only things to buy on South Caicos are experiences." Although each staff member at EastBay was super friendly and enjoyable, special shout outs go to CJ, Urye, Fiona, and Marilyn, and the front desk staff(2 ladies that names escape me but were both so helpful and kind, and a gentleman - I believe Lewis)!! One of the best trips and a much needed recharge for both of us. We just got home and already miss it sooooo much. A piece of our hearts are there and with every person we met along the way. South Caicos is sparsely populated and has limited development. The resort was just about perfect. We had a suite that was fabulous, including an update full kitchen, though we did not use it, and living room and large bedroom. Even had a half bath/powder room in addition to the bathroom off the master bedroom. Both rooms with great ocean views. The food was served buffet style for all three meals and was part of our all inclusive package, though there was a menu to order off of as well, though you had to pay for that (though it was 50% of the list price for us). All wine, beer and mixed drinks were included as well. The food was amazing, surprisingly good for a buffet. It was topped only by the desserts that were consistently over the top! One of the friends we made there enjoyed the chocolate tart so much, she asked the chef for the recipe. He gave it to her and made a special batch of the tart for her the next night! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our last night there, I ordered off the menu, surf and turf. It was amazing as well! I did one day of diving with Reef Divers. Jody at the dive desk was great! There was a group of about 10 folks from a Wyoming dive shop that were there, along with a few others. It was a great group to dive with. The Divemaster, Ethan was great. The boat, Big Sister, was a large boat well suited for the group we had. The dives were all close by, 5 - 15 minute boat ride. The water was very clear 70 - 80 ft visibility and 79 degrees at all depths. Although I only did 2 dives, the rest of the group was doing 3 dives a day just about every day of the week. It sounds like since Reef Divers took over for the diving, the resort has really thrived. We did the snorkeling excursion and visit to Long Cay to see the igunas. Lincoln was our guide and he was awesome. My wife does not dive and this was perfect for her. Snorkeling in what felt like an aquarium with so much coral and fish all in about 6 to 8 feet of crystal clear water. Highly recommend this, even for divers! The beach in front of the resort is about 2.5 miles long and is very private, there is no other access, very private. When it was "crowded" there were about 8 - 10 folks, all with lounges and umbrellas. They had a good selection of masks, snorkels and fins for use, as well as several kayaks and paddle boards. We flew into Cockburn Harbor airport from Providenciales, about a 20 - 30 minute flight. I understand there is also a boat available, but the flight was easy and had great views as well. They are building a terminal there and the firehouse is temporarily serving as the terminal. CJ, the resort driver met us at the airport, about a 10 minute drive to the resort. He was great, sharing his knowledge of the island. He also was available to take us the local stores for some snack foods and computer cable. The stores and not well stocked, very limited selections. They are in the middle of renovations at the resort. One of the staff said that Marriott was not involved, not sure if it is ownership or franchise. In any case, they have significant plans to further improve the resort. read less

The buffet-style food service for our all-inclusive vacation was wonderful. The personnel at the resort were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We had a great time during our vacation. We did a kayak tour and snorkeling tour which cost extra but were very good. All in all, a wonderful vacation. A couple of things to mention: . This is not a location if you are looking for night life. South Caicos is fairly secluded I don't think there were any places with live music or other night life. The bar at East Bay closes at 9. . Make sure you understand that you will need to take a commuter flight or private ferry to get to the island of South Caicos. We recommend the flight as the ferry we took was really designed for supplying provisions to the island and is not designed for passengers. read less

Such a beautiful location, white sand and blue sea and s... read moreWe had a wonderful stay recently at the East Bay Resort in South Caicos! Such a beautiful location, white sand and blue sea and skies. The resort was fairly quiet and wasn't overcrowded by the pool or on the beach. A few room issues we had upon arrival were dealt with quickly by the Deputy Manager, Melina who was very friendly and efficient. The room itself was spacious with a comfortable bed and super quiet aircon. We also had a small well-equipped kitchenette which we didn't need to use as we had opted for the 'All Inclusive' option. No complaints either with the daily room clean and change of towels. Thanks to Weslyn - who kept our room clean and tidy! We met Chef AG on our first day and cannot speak highly enough of his menu (which changed daily and usually themed) All three meals, breakfast, lunch & dinner were plentiful and very tasty with a great selection from the buffet style restaurant. On our first night (Friday) we had steak and lobster which was a big surprise and so good! There is also an a la carte menu which we didn't need to go to. Under the all inclusive plan there is a big selection of cocktails, beers, wine etc. included as well, which was great! Chef AG's restaurant team are amazing and really made our stay! A special mention to the fabulous MARLYN, FIORELIZ & YZADORA - you girls looked after us so well and are great assets to the Resort. Also a mention to URE in the bar who made excellent cocktails and kept the 'Scuba Rocks' cocktails and Rum Punch coming! We went on a snorkeling trip with LINCOLN - again a great asset to the Resort dive team and such a lovely guy. The boat trip was great fun and we saw lots of colourful fish, stingray, baby shark, star fish and he also took us to Iguana Island which is over run with iguanas and we fed them apples. Thanks Lincoln for a great trip. You can also hire bicycles which are free of charge and we cycled for an hour or so to the town and managed to get a bit closer to the flamingoes; the wild donkeys are also lovely and we saw quite a few on our bike ride. All in all we had a great holiday. As the other reviews say it is very, very quiet and there is not very much to do but if you want a relaxing beach holiday with good food, peace and quiet in a super friendly resort then definitely visit East Bay Resort. I would say that it is quite an adventure to get to South Caicos and not for the feint hearted - there are no direct flights from the UK and we flew BA via Antigua with a one hour lay over and then on to Providenciales. The small InterCaribbean airways flights (which were included in our Resort package) only fly to South Caicos twice a day and it leaves in the afternoon before the International flights arrive so usually you have to spend one night in Providenciales which is expensive. We booked an overnight stay at The Sands on Grace Bay for $300 which was fine. One other special mention to ASHLEY on the front desk - who was very efficient and friendly. My husband loves the two rash vests - so thanks for that! All in all it was worth the time and trouble to get to South Caicos - the weather was fab and the sea breeze welcome and meant there were no mosquitos - so another bonus! Really felt like it was only us on the island and resort at times though there were a few afternoons or evenings when we jammed by the pool or bar with others. CJ will pick you u... read moreWe travel many times a year and East Bay was by far my favorite destination. The people are so kind and lovely. CJ will pick you up and entertain you with his native stories of "his Island" It's quiet and clean . We basically had our own private beach. Speaking of the beach, it's perfection. Soft sand and turquoise blue water. We had the best sleep of our lives because it's so quiet and comfortable. (I haven't slept that great ever) If you love to chill out on vacation without the chaos of a giant resort East Bay is your place. I miss it already and can't wait to go back. read less
